Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Barn Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and husbandry, with the ability to perform various tasks related to the maintenance and operation of our barn facilities. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality care for our animals.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, turn out, and health monitoring.
- Maintain cleanliness of the barn and surrounding areas by mucking stalls and disposing of waste, removing cobwebs, sweeping, etc.
- Light maintenance of barn and arena such as painting, power washing, etc.
- Assist in restraint of animals during treatment.
- Report any changes in behaviors.
- Keep track of feed/supplies for reorder as needed.
- Assist with unloading sawdust, putting up hay, etc.
Qualifications
- Experience in animal care is mandatory. Prior experience handling horses, sheep, goats and cattle is preferred.
- Ability to drive skid steer and tractor is desirable but not required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment repair is beneficial.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly, as this role involves physical labor.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work unsupervised.
- Flexibility in schedule/ability to add hours during busy times is beneficial.
- Position is for Monday through Friday, must be available to start at 8 AM.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
