7AM to 3PM Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Mentor

We are Growing and need several new team members for our weekend shifts!!! We are a strong team with a kind and caring culture. We are seeking intrinsically motivated, detail oriented and innovative people to join our team and support our Farmers and each other.
Who are we?
Farmsteads of New England is a unique Farm designed to support individuals diagnosed with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, as well as individuals diagnosed with Acquired Brain Disorders. We provide support, care and lifelong memories.
What will I do?
As a Mentor you will work with our Farmers to feed and care for animals, participate in fun and exciting experiences, become part of the community, and learn to be as independent as they can be. In short, you will be someone’s superhero. (Capes not provided just fun).
Daily Responsibilities
- Prioritize kindness, dignity, respect, communication, and integrity.
- Provide direct support services in a method and manner that is convenient and supportive to individuals.
- Provide and participate in person centered services.
- Work with Farmers to discover their dreams and achieve them.
- Provided cooking, cleaning and personal care services as needed.
- Assist with independence goals like financial management, helping the individual get/keep a job, learn to cook, clean and plan their days.
- Administer medications as needed.
- Create and maintain accurate daily records, notes, medications logs and other various forms.
- Provided and maintain a safe working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- A fantastic sense of humor and caring heart.
- A kind disposition and desire to help others succeed.
- Minimum of a GED or Highschool diploma.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass all applicable DCYF, BEAS, Local Law, Federal and other required background screenings per applicable regulations.
- 18 Years or older at the time of hire
- U.S. Citizen or possession of necessary papers allowing holder to work legally in the United States.
- Personal/Professional experience caring for others is a significant plus.
