What are the responsibilities and job description for the Demand Planner position at Farouk Systems Inc?
The Demand Planner is responsible for all forecasting and demand planning activities for new and existing manufactured and purchased products. The Demand Planner develops and maintains collaborative forecasts for all products by working with cross-functional teams, analyzing sales trends, promotions, product transitions and market data.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain rolling 12 month SKU level demand forecasts for all products to support organizational targets.
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Operations to ensure that cross-functional inputs are captured, assessed and incorporated into the forecast.
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing to understand upcoming demand, including new product launches, promotions and seasonality.
- Lead forecast and demand planning meetings with Sales and Marketing as required.
- Load and maintain forecast data into SAP as needed to ensure current and accurate information.
- Measure and report forecast accuracy and lead root-cause analysis into major forecast variances.
- Participate in ongoing SKU rationalization initiatives, including identifying slow moving SKU’s and coordinating SKU disposal.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in a demand planning/forecasting role, preferably in a manufacturing and/or consumer goods environment.
- SKU-level demand planning experience preferred.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
