Farr Law Firm is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal in Punta Gorda, Florida. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the Senior Paralegal in various administrative and clerical tasks. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of our legal team.

TYPICAL DAY
· Provide administrative support to the Senior Paralegal, including taking incoming phone calls, scheduling meetings, calendaring appointments, and opening/distributing mail.
· Provide support as needed to Associate Attorneys under the direction of the Senior Paralegal
· Assist, as needed, in the preparation of mailings and client binders
· Compile, proofread and revise drafts of legal documents, reports and corporate filings under the supervision of the Senior Paralegal
· Coordinate and assist in the maintenance of legal department records, databases, and document management systems.
· Assist in the preparation and filing of regulatory and compliance documents, such annual reports and other required filings.
· Coordinate and assist in the management of legal matters, including document retrieval and organization and tracking of matter deadlines.
· Assist in improving legal team efficiency.
· Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
· Support the Senior Paralegal in special projects and initiatives as assigned
· Serve as a liaison between the legal department and other departments within the company, as well as external stakeholders, such as outside counsel, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
· Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate degree or equivalent qualification. Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or related field is a plus.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
· Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and proofreading.
· Continuous focus, diligence and dedication to constant improvement.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
· Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with legal document management systems.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
· Strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
· Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle confidential and sensitive information.
JOB EXPECTATIONS
· In-office work only; no remote work
· 8:30 am – 5 pm; Monday – Friday (lunch 12-1 pm)
· Minimal overtime
