About this position:
Job Type: Full-time, On-site.
***Schedule: Monday to Friday, Swing Shift: 2:30 to 11:00pm***
***Swing starts after a 4 to 6 month day shift training schedule***
Wage: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Farwest’s Programming Department, which is located in Springfield, Oregon, seeks a detail orientated and motivated individual to join their team as CNC Programmer. In this role, you will develop and support NC programs for CNC metal processing equipment generated from customer specifications. Your skills and knowledge will help to deliver quality metal solutions that drive customer success.

Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Work from detail drawings, 2D geometry files, 3D models, sketches, templates and notes to generate quality NC programs for CNC metal processing equipment using various CAD/CAM software.
- Support the Programming Department through the following:
- Proof and troubleshoot NC Programs created by colleagues to ensure trouble free operation.
- Assist in the investigation of, and solution to, technical problems involving NC programs and machine operation.
- Review and verify existing programs for compliance with customer specifications and machine capabilities.
- Assist Operators with qualification and validation of machine parameters.
- Recommend and assist in implementing improvements to efficiency and throughput.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with nesting software, Sigmanest preferred.
- Experience with 3D modeling and flat pattern development methods and terminology (Solidworks preferred).
- Experience with CAD/CAM software with knowledge of drafting standards.
- Understanding of manufacturing methods, capabilities, procedures, and standards.
- Understanding of and ability to edit ‘G’ and ‘M’ Code language as used in plate and sheet processing.
- Familiarity with machine operation including but not limited to laser, hi-definition plasma, oxyfuel, punching, structural laser cutting and press brake.

- Ability to work independently as a problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to finish projects promptly.
