What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tire and Lube Technician position at Farwest Tire & Auto Inc.?
Tire Technician / Oil & Filter Tech(1 year min work experience for all tire sizes, training of our equipment on site if needed)
Typical Job Duty:
-Lists any body damage on service order.
-Drives customers vehicle into install bay, onto lift.
-Removes wheel using impact gun. Follows safety and security procedures. Attaches new valve stem, mounts new tire on wheel, fills tire to appropriate air pressure then balances wheel
-Re-attaches wheels to vehicle using impact gun and hand torque wrench according to tire shop procedures
-Performs second torque check after manager/lead on tires installed by others
-Performs routine oil changes on all types of vehicles
-Completes 30-point check and inform front desk to authorize vehicle release.
-Parks customer's auto and returns invoice and keys to sales desk
-Repairs flat tires
-Checks air pressure
-Checks stock for tires on hand
-Cleans/sweeps/mops garage
-Loads/unloads tires and places used tires in recycling area
-Must be able to quote tires, wheels, labor and accessories for interested customers
-Must become familiar with products and warranties related to the merchandise that Farwest Tire & Auto stocks and sells.
-Answer phone calls
-Assist mechanics as needed
-Stocks tires in storage area~Picks up tires/parts from warehouse/distributor
-Drops off/picks up customers
-Assists with driving customers vehicle into service bay and parking member vehicle in lot after service
-Test drives customer auto occasionally
-Assists with general shop upkeep which includes but is not limited to:
-mopping
-sweeping
-vacuuming
-organization
-cleaning the bathrooms
-Follows all safety procedures and guidelines (30 day probation on work performance/and following job guidelines)
Education/Training:High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:Valid driver's license required with clean record.
Experience:Employees with previous tire installation/tire sales experience will be given preference over other candidates.
Hours:Farwest Tire & Auto is open 8:00-5:00, Monday- Friday and 8:00-12:00 on Saturdays. Employees are required to arrive, be at their positions and prepared to work by 8:00. Applicants for this position are required to work Saturdays. Applicants must also be willing to work overtime as needed
