Summary
The Surgery Center Technician is responsible for assisting Operating Room staff with direct and indirect patient care. The goal of the Surgery Center Technician is to assist staff to ensure safe, quality, age-specific patient care and to ensure the efficient flow of the day's surgery schedule. Teamwork is an essential interpersonal skill and is an expected performance description. Reports to Operating Room Manager.
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
High school graduate or equivalent required. Associate degree or higher preferred. Healthcare related degree/certification desired, such as Surgical Technician, Sterile Processing Technician, Nursing Assistant, etc.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years previous health care experience in a clinical setting required.
Able to use computer systems, inclusive of handheld electronic devices. Able to exhibit emotional maturity and establish a cooperative, effective relationship with people. Able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with physicians and co-workers. Teamwork is an essential interpersonal skill and is an expected performance description.
