HDR is looking for a Senior Designer to join our Water Business Group team in either Charlotte or Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have a technical interest in water and wastewater treatment, pump stations and pipelines, or water resources and stormwater. The Senior Designer will be responsible for assisting with projects through planning, design, and construction phases. Project types could include water and wastewater treatment facilities, gravity sanitary sewers and force mains, water distribution and transmission pipelines, water and wastewater pump stations, and related infrastructure projects. They will support professional engineers and technical staff and may have periodic contact with clients regarding ongoing projects and tasks. This position may require occasional field visits for construction observation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
- A minimum of 20 years of water / wastewater / water resources project experience, with a focus on water / wastewater treatment, pump stations and pipelines, or water resources / stormwater
- Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and ESRI ArcGIS
- Must thrive working in a team environment
- Local candidates are preferred
