About The Opportunity
As an Authentication Specialist you will be trained to evaluate & authenticate pre-owned luxury handbags and accessories from brands such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Hermes, and more! Responsibilities include:
- Conduct thorough authentication assessments on high-end luxury handbags and accessories.
- Perform online research to discover facts and patterns related to authenticity and stay up to date with designer trends.
- Document and maintain accurate records of authentication findings.
- Create or assist in the creation of written and pictorial guides and documentation regarding brand authentication.
- Participate in group information sessions on special topics in authentication.
- Attend all Fashionphile University Authentication and be certified on all brands we carry.
- This position is based fully on-site at our Chelsea, NY Flagship location.
- The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday availability as needed. Candidates must be flexible, and willing, to work holidays and some weekends based on business needs. Overtime may also be required. The shift schedule includes rotational shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- Exceptional analytical skills, ability to research and solve problems that don’t often have a definitive answer in a guide-book
- Extreme attention to detail is essential to prevent errors
- Full and keen use of senses in order to detect authenticity- vision, smell, and touch
- Ability to stand and perform inspections over a long period of time
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to adjust to a fast-paced and rapidly growing work environment
- Flexibility to work weekends as the business demands
- Prior experience working with luxury handbag brands (Preferred)
- Experience with customer service communication via email (Preferred)
