SUMMARY:
Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, and transportation for the company. Plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items either from suppliers or production, ensuring smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. Responsible for prioritizing tasks to meet shipping dates and maintaining an accurate inventory by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
- Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation.
- Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, and transportation.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, shipping.
- Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes or carriers.
- Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies.
- Conducts investigations into causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance.
- Conducts studies in areas of packaging, warehousing, and loading of commodities and evaluates existing procedures and standards.
- Prepare/kit SO’s for shipping find/track where items are.
- Liaison for shipping questions for all sites
- Prepare domestic and international shipment paperwork LT and full load.
- Duties as assigned by management.
