TITLE: Electrical Engineer
LOCATION: Troy, MI
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Design and coordinate all power and lighting distribution systems meeting project specifications under the guidance of a Professional Engineer (PE) on staff
- Manage and schedule 3D modelers/2D Drafters (VDC/BIM modelers)
- Review, edit and write project specifications under the guidance of a PE on staff
- Generate and/or review production submittals against project specifications under the guidance of a PE on staff
- Assist in the estimating process for Electrical contractors by attending jobsite walk throughs, defining scope, and generating bill of materials
- Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering required
- 2-5 years minimum experience with an electrical contracting company (preferred) and/or Architectural/Engineering firm required
- Strong skills and proficient in Revit software required
- Proven experience with reviewing, editing, and writing project specifications required
- Experience with generating and/or reviewing production submittals against project specifications required
- Experience with walk throughs, defining scope and generating bill of materials required
- Must be self-directed
- Must also be able to manage others and possess strong communication skills
- Ability to work cohesively with other departments within the company
- Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and follow projects to completion
- Strong problem-solving skills required
