Job Overview
The Tool Repair Technician III is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining pneumatic tools, strapping machines, and their components to support industrial, manufacturing, and construction operations. This role combines hands-on mechanical work with computer-based tasks to ensure tools and equipment are functional and safe.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and diagnose issues with pneumatic tools and strapping machines, including air compressors, nail guns, staplers, and strapping components.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble pneumatic tools and strapping machines, replacing faulty parts such as O-rings, seals, gaskets, blades, and straps.
- Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, calibration) on tools and strapping equipment.
- Test repaired tools and machines to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
- Accurately document repairs, parts used, and maintenance tasks in computer systems.
- Manage inventory of replacement parts and tools, including those for strapping equipment, using computer software.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers on tool and strapping machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Follow safety protocols and comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics or a related field is advantageous.
- Previous experience in tool repair, mechanical maintenance, electrical component removal and replacement, or similar.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems, electrical systems, and strapping machines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized repair equipment.
- Familiarity with computer systems for data entry, inventory tracking, and report generation.
- Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and a safety-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication skills for effective customer interactions.
