Basic Function:
The Laboratory Technician assists in the day-to-day operations of the lab, including administrative duties, client communication, performing tests, conducting analyses, generating reports, and ensuring an excellent customer experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Handle customer inquiries and follow scripts to schedule appointments and promote services.
- Perform daily sales calls to encourage prospective clients to utilize Fastest Labs services.
- Conduct certified specimen collections for urine, alcohol, saliva, fingernail, hair follicle, and DNA tests.
- Administer urine and saliva tests using instant or rapid screening devices.
- Process and maintain business files and maintain a daily log of all incoming calls.
- Follow proper chain of custody collection procedures, package specimens correctly, arrange for shipping, and complete required paperwork.
- Collect payments and accurately process chain of custody testing forms.
- Report test results using the appropriate client-specific reporting protocol.
- Perform sales presentations and outreach to potential clients.
- Monitor and manage inventory of testing supplies.
- Follow up on leads using phone calls, emails, letters, or faxes.
- Manage and enhance social media presence.
- Support onsite/mobile testing activities.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the office and testing areas.
- Contribute to a positive work environment and support team efforts.
- Ensure the maintenance and preparation of testing products, forms, and equipment.
- Perform additional office functions and related duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Clear spoken and written communication in English (Bilingual preferred).
- Strong persuasive skills for scheduling sales appointments.
- Computer literacy and ability to manage administrative tasks.
- Flexible, hardworking, quick learner, and customer-centric attitude.
Special Requirements:
- Proficiency in using a personal computer.
- Comfort with physical contact with testing materials, including urine, hair, saliva, and fingernail dust.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds and perform physical activities such as bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and carrying.
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods.
