Reports To: Elite Women’s Care Practice Manager

Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant at Elite Women's Care, a division of the FastMD Medical Group, you will work under the direction of a licensed provider to perform clinical and administrative duties. You will be responsible for maintaining medical records, scheduling appointments, collecting financial responsibilities for care, and taking and recording vital signs and medical histories all while respecting the evidence-based guidelines set forth by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) for people with a uterus.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Record patients' medical history and other pertinent information into the medical record.
Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and keep the room and workspace clean.
Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician.
Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or other indicated provider instructions to patients.
Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies following guidelines.
Perform general office duties: answering telephones, taking dictation, scheduling appointments, greeting patients and checking them in/out, or completing insurance or other patient requested forms.
Education/Certification/Licenses:
Medical Assistant Certification preferred but not required, initially.
Additional Requirements:
The ability to travel to our various facilities on occasion may be necessary to fulfill our patient and provider needs.
Participate in occasional marketing events, which may be held off-site.

Experience:
Minimum of 1-year medical assistance experience in women’s care required.
Prior experience with women’s care procedures preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures.
Ability to operate medical equipment and computer software.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical laws and ethics.
