What are the responsibilities and job description for the Managing Director position at FastTek Global?
- A managing director for India operations is a senior leadership role in our fast growing organization. The managing director oversees the organization's day-to-day operations and provides strategic input to the board and implements business strategy decided by the board/CEO.
- The role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities including making major corporate decisions, managing budgets and resources, leading employees, liaising with stakeholders, and being the public face of the company. A managing director is accountable to the board of directors and must align their actions with the overall strategic goals set for the organization by the Board.
- The core responsibilities of a managing director focus on the execution of business strategy. This includes:
- A key duty is contributing to strategic planning discussions to set organizational goals and priorities. The managing director provides input on feasibility, resource needs, and operational requirements to implement strategic plans.
- Once plans are finalized, the managing director spearheads the execution through budgets, workforce direction, and establishing policies and procedures to actualize the strategy.
- Manage the overall P&L of India operations.
- Day-to-day operations oversight ranging from sales (both staffing and services), marketing campaigns, infrastructure, and recruitment.
- As the leader of the management team, the MD motivates and oversees the executive staff, managers, and wider employee base. Building a workplace culture that is in line with Fasttek Global culture.
- Managing director must ensure proper compliance with regulations, legal obligations, risk management practices, and good governance principles. This includes accountability, transparency, ethical behavior, data protection, safety policies and all government requirements (eg., Professional Tax, Yearend reporting, etc) .
- As the senior most executive, present FastSwitch’s public face of the organization to our customers. Showcase FastSwitch’s capabilities in forums such as NASSCOM etc to build the overall brand.
Strategic Thinking
- The ability to analyze the competitive landscape, identify opportunities worth pursuing and respond to external threats with appropriate strategies.
- A managing director must have strong business instincts and acumen spanning operations, marketing, finance, accounting and be able to evaluate commercial risks rationally. Ability to deal with Indian Government,
- Excellent capability to build and maintain senior leadership relationships that exist and new ones that would be needed.
- Excellent communication skills that inspire employees, provide clarity on vision/goals, influence stakeholders, and project confidence when representing the organization publicly.
- With an array of complex decisions across functions, managing director must have decisiveness rooted in sound judgment, logic, objectivity and the readiness to take responsibility for outcomes.
- Ability to work with Indian Government on occasional basis and represent company interests.
- Minimum 5 years in a Senior Leadership role (IT Services Sales/Delivery). Understands the Indian market both from Customer and employee resource perspective, having sold/delivered IT Services
- At least 2 years working with a US parent company.
- 2 years of experience dealing with Indian Government regulations in assistance with Chartered Accountants
- 2 years of experience working with NASSCOM or similar organizations
- Bachelors degree from a reputed University
