Summary
Responsible for maintenance of buildings and facilities. Performs skilled carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC painting, and general repairs. All maintenance tasks are performed in one or more trades or with close supervision.
Performs general repairs to interior, exterior and common areas of buildings and facilities, to maintain properties pursuant to HUD HQS standards. Requires proficiency in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, painting, and related trades.
General duties listed below:
Performs rough carpentry work including installation, maintenance, and repair of doors, windows, hardware, trims, gypsum board, insulation, furniture, fixtures and all finishes and details.
Performs preparation necessary for the replacement of kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, installation of flooring, wall/floor �le, and repairs cabinets.
Performs electrical troubleshooting of existing switches, outlets, circuit breakers, light fixtures, and other
minor electrical components.
Repairs and maintains plumbing including piping for water and sanitary, repair/replacement/installation of plumbing fixtures such as sinks, bathtubs, showers (and trims), repairing leaks, and drain clearing.
Repairs, adjusts, and/or replaces various appliances/equipment, including furnaces, dishwashers, stoves, water heaters, refrigerators, electric motors, smoke detectors, and replaces or discards appliances as necessary.
Performs general exterior repairs and maintenance including facades, roofs, gutters, drains, stairways, doors and hardware, windows, foundations, masonry, concrete (walks, brick, paving, steps, curbing), fences, gates, and signs.
Prepares all interior/exterior surfaces for painting including pressure-washing, removing electrical outlet covers, lighting fixtures, scraping, patching, taping, compounding, and sanding.
Maintains safe and organized workshops, vehicle, including tools, inventory, and ordering supplies
