Position Summary
The HR Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department, including benefits, compensation, leave management, and project-based initiatives. Maintains Faulconer’s Core Values at all times.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Benefit administration to include, new hire benefit enrollment, enrollment data to carriers, add/terms, etc.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping between payroll and HR relating to benefit deductions and wages.
- Maintains compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations
- Handles employment-related inquiries, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Corporate Director.
- Participates in employee meetings and investigations.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Assists with preparation of the performance review process. Project-based initiatives
Position Expectations
This job operates in both an office environment and outdoor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, etc. Travel may be required during open enrollment or for business meetings. This position does not have any direct reports, however, acts as Team lead with HR Admin Assistants.
Physical requirements include lifting objects up to 25 lbs., standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time, maintaining stability while walking on construction jobsites where ground is uneven, heavy equipment is in operation and soils may be loose or slippery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field, and at least 3-5 five years of related benefits and broad HR experience.
- SHRM or HRCI professional designations preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Comprehensive understanding of local, state and federal employment laws
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines

- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies (HRIS, Vendor websites, Linkedin, etc.)
Work Authorization / Security Clearance
- Employee must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Drug screens are required after an offer is accepted and continued employment is based on initial drug screen and any future/random drug screens administered.
- A background check will be required.
- A confidentiality agreement may be required.
- Driving records may be required.
- Further clearance may be required by clients (i.e. government or military site access).
