The College of Health Sciences is seeking a highly qualified individual for our Assistant Program Director position within the Faulkner School of Nursing. This individual will work closely with the Program Director to exercise administrative oversight for the nursing program. Areas of focus for the selected candidate will be accreditation, curriculum, faculty selection/development, student recruitment, strategic planning, and budget management. In collaboration with the faculty and administration, the Assistant Program Director assures delivery of the nursing curriculum in a manner that meets program goals and learning outcomes, and fulfills the vision, mission, and strategic plan of the program and university. Successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to Christ-centered Liberal Arts education, Christian service, and the mission of Faulkner University. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), 12-month, tenure-track position. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with academic qualifications, teaching experience, research and relevant clinical specialist certifications.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree with a major in nursing (MSN or equivalent) from an accredited nursing program required; doctoral degree preferred
- Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) required
- Minimum of a current and active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of five years nursing experience
- Experience in full time higher education preferred
- Active member of the church of Christ preferred
