Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Clinical Skills Lab Coordinator for the College of Health Sciences, School of Nursing. The selected individual will be responsible for providing oversight of the operation, equipment, and activities of the Clinical Skills Lab. This individual will also be responsible for teaching and supervising students in clinical skills practice, demonstration, simulation, and remediation. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.
This is for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with academic qualifications, teaching experience, research and relevant clinical specialist certifications.
Summary of Duties:
- Teach in practicum courses and clinical settings
- Coordinate CPR training for students
- Assist students during practice sessions
- Maintain records of student attendance and skill performance
- Provide feedback and evaluate student skills assessments in coordination with faculty
- Develops schedules with faculty for use of skills lab space and supplies
- Conduct orientation for faculty and staff to new equipment and usage
- Serve as integral part of achieving Simulation Lab accreditation
- Complete required documentation related to accreditation standards
- Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and supplies
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and practices in keeping with OSHA legislation and regulations
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing required
- Minimum 2 years professional nursing experience required
- Current, active licensure as a registered nurse in Alabama or compact licensure to practice in Alabama required
- Current BLS certification required; BLS certified instructor preferred
- Teaching experience preferred
- Active member of the church of Christ
