This hands-on role operates machinery to blend, densify, and prepare materials for further processing. You'll ensure quality control, perform basic maintenance, and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates equipment according to work instructions and machine set-up parameters.
• Starts machine and adjusts valves to admit steam or cooling fluids to steam jacket or devices in mixing chamber to aid in blending and densifying mixture.
• Operates machine until mixture reaches desired consistency and turns lever to unload mixture into container, conveyor or mill for sheeting.
• Operates auxiliary equipment to break up, grind, dry mix or otherwise prepare mixture for final processing.
• Perform quality checks per work instructions to assure product is within specifications, and notify supervisor if product is out of specifications.
• Assists in basic preventative maintenance procedures such as lubing and cleaning of machinery. Notify supervisor of suspected abnormalities.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities

• Utilizes math skills for batch making and weighing chemicals.
• Has the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and can interpret and apply instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form.
• Deals with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations with ease.
• Can regularly lift-up to 50 lbs at a time; able to transport 450lb. barrels with a dolly.
• Able to wear a respirator for short periods of time (occasionally)
• Can be on their feet up to 5 hours in a row.
• Is a team player that takes initiative to help others.
• Fluent in English.

Education and Experience

• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Physical Demands: Physically demanding role requiring frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, and walking.
• Cognitive Requirements: Requires problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Work Environment: Manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions.
