Seasonal Assistant Pool Manager – Larry Weeks Community Pool – Vint Hill
o Start Date: May 24th, 2025.
o Training will be required prior to May 24th.
o Assists with the daily operation of facility by operating cash registers, answering the telephone, and interacting with the public daily.
o Assists with daily staff supervision, pool patron inquiries, and routine manager tasks.
o Providing excellent customer service and enforcing patrons' rules and regulations.
o Performing daily facility tasks by maintaining a clean work environment and checking restrooms and pool deck area.
o Ability to work in the outdoors with uncontrollable temperature conditions.
o Flexible work schedule but must be available to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Directs, trains and evaluates personnel with Community Center Manager or Operations Superintendent’s approval.
- Submits reports, evaluations, inventories, and proposals to Community Center Manager or Operations Superintendent.
- Supervises all temporary and part-time personnel under supervision of Community Center Manager or Operations Superintendent.
- Supervises pool property to assure safety and a quality experience for users.
- Assures that all safety procedures are complied with by the public.
- Assists in day to day concession and maintenance functions as needed.
- Fills in as a Pool Attendant or Concession Worker as needed.
- Reports to Community Center Manager or Operations Superintendent and receives special assignments via verbal communications, written memos and project lists and by responsibilities outlined in position description.
- Must use judgment to prioritize special tasks. Some are to be done without specific instructions and with minimal instruction.
- Work is reviewed by Community Center Manager or Operations Superintendent, facilities and services are evaluated by participants and visitors via formal survey evaluation.
- Operates under the guidelines of the Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Policy Manual, Fauquier County Policy Manual, and guidelines and/or safety measures set up by the Community Center Manager or Operations Superintendent.
- Goals and objectives are established yearly by departmental staff, and approved by Director and Parks Board.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICTIONS
General knowledge of philosophies, theories, practices and applications of park and recreation administration, supervision, leadership and planning for recreation pool operations and a knowledge of concession operations. Knowledge of pool maintenance practices and procedures. Knowledge of personnel practices i.e. training, motivation, and evaluation. Skilled in the operation of office equipment, concession equipment, power and hand tools, Applicant must have current Pool Operator’s License or ability to obtain within first 30 days of hire along with the ability to obtain a Food Permit(ServSafe) within two-weeks of hire. Applicant must be First Aid and CPR certified and possess a valid Driver’s License). Applicant must successfully pass a background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICTIONS
Six-months of lifeguard, head guard and/or pool manager experience. Experience with point-of-sale system and money collection. Experience in a food service setting. Applicant to hold a current Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification with six months of teaching experience.
