Quality Analyst RN - FT Exempt Weekdays

Under the supervision of the Quality Director, the Quality Control Analyst manages the patient safety and quality review process to ensure the highest level of patient care and quality outcomes, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Through interaction with physicians, case managers, coders and other health care team members, the Quality Control Analyst will strive to ensure comprehensive medical record documentation that accurately reflects the clinical treatment, decisions, diagnosis and severity of illness for all inpatients. The Quality Analyst performs a wide variety of reviews and special studies necessary for the Medical Staff and hospital departments to meet the Joint Commission and other regulatory agency standards.

• Works closely with case management, quality and risk management, and medical staff credentialing to provide data related to key clinical indicators and operation metrics.
• Provides assistance with analyzing performance data and trends to achieve hospital-wide goals. Acts as a resource for updates and changes in the data abstraction process.
• Completes and maintains data for blood usage and administration, mortality review, C-sections, code review, tissue review and transfers meetings as applicable.

Minimum Education
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)

Minimum Work Experience
Required: 3-5 years of nursing experience in an Acute hospital setting.
Preferred: Demonstrated experience in the areas of quality activities, utilization review or case management, and infection control.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Project management and life cycle skills, detail oriented, and deadline focused

Must have the ability to accurately interpret data definitions and communicate both verbally and in writing the core measure variances to key leaders to facilitate organizational improvement opportunities

Required Skills
Required Certification: Current Virginia State Registered Nurse License
