What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor - Purchasing/Mailroom - FT Weekdays position at Fauquier Health?
The Supervisor of Purchasing/Storeroom oversees daily operations of the Materials department, including vendor maintenance, item updates, contract reviews, and procurement activities. The Supervisor provides direction and training to staff to ensure compliance with departmental and organizational policies.
- Determines, coordinates, and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
- Serves as a resource to hospital personnel in utilization of inventory system for placing orders of inventory and non-stock items. Promotes standardization of products and vendors.
- Effectively maintains vendor relationships. Provides assistance with resolving customer inquiries, purchase orders, as appropriate.

Minimum Education
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associates degree
Minimum Work Experience
Required: 3-5 years supervisory experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or healthcare fields. Experience in relevant IMS or ERP system(s).
Preferred: 1-2 oversight of courier or fleet services.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
