The Surgical Coordinator schedules surgeries and office appointments for a physician practice. The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for obtaining insurance authorization, pre-certification and verification of patients medical and surgical benefits prior to surgery or testing.
- Schedules surgeries and office appointments for all physicians in the practice. Updates patients and physicians on any schedule changes.
- Compiles and maintains patient charts and reports.
- Obtains insurance authorization, pre-certifications and verification of patients medical and surgical benefits for surgeries and procedures.
- Obtains signed waivers from patents as indicated for all surgical procedures scheduled.
- Collects surgical co-payments.

Minimum Education
X High School Diploma Required
Minimum Work Experience
Required: 1-2 years’ experience in Healthcare/Medical Office Setting.
Preferred: Computer Data Entry and Insurance Authorization Experience.
