What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Buyer position at Faurecia?
Position Summary: The Program Buyer is the purchasing interface with the Program/Program Manager and is part of the program team.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the requests for quotes received from the program team and obtains or estimates costs with the Commodity Buyers.
- Responsible for tools and prototype suppliers’ performances.
- Defines or collects the purchasing specifications for the program based on functional requirements or specifications
- Identifies prototype and tool suppliers, leads their assessment and selection with the program team.
- Ensures program purchasing performance (objective cost, quality, timing) are met
- Ensures that supplier product qualifications are part of the overall program planning (e.g. initial samples qualifications)
- Leads the APQP process until Initial Samples approval (PPAP)
- Travel approx. 15% (North America in including Mexico, and Europe)
- The employee is responsible for conducting his/her job within the ISO 9001 standards
- All program-related duties need to be accomplished within the requirements of the Faurecia Program Management System
- Support the leadership and commitment from top management according to the Group environmental policy and Group Quality Policy
- Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
- Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site

Position Specifications:
Knowledge / Skills:
- Excellent written and spoken communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to successfully handle multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to influence the actions and opinions of others in a desired direction
- Exposure to Program customer is a plus
- Working knowledge of Spanish, German or French will be a plus
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- The performance needs to be in accordance with the Faurecia core competencies
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree Finance, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field
- And/or a minimum of 2 to 5 years’ experience with successful experience in purchasing or manufacturing interior components for the automotive industry
