The Bookkeeper/Payroll Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing payroll functions for multiple clients. This individual will work closely with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll for multiple clients on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for clients.
- Prepare and verify payroll reports, including tax reports, 401k contributions, and benefit deductions.
- Review, reconcile, and post payroll data into accounting software.
- Create and maintain employee records, including pay rate changes, employment status, and personal information.
- Monitor and update employee time and attendance records.
- Process employee reimbursements and expense reports.
- Respond to payroll inquiries and communicate with clients regarding any payroll-related matters.
- Review and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
- Provide support to the accounting team, including participating in meetings and special projects as needed.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing, or accounting.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations.
- Experience working with accounting and payroll software, preferably QuickBooks Online.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
