What are the responsibilities and job description for the Turret Press Operator - 2nd Shift position at FAWN MANUFACTURING INC?
The Turret Press Operator will:
Perform duties to operate brake press to produce parts in accordance with job specifications and established quality standards. Assigned jobs involve producing more complex and intricate parts. Also required to perform other tasks, as assigned by his or her supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtain supplies, position work and follow verbal or written instructions
- Operate brake press
- Maintain machine so it operates at full capacity
- Obtain first piece inspection approval
- Follow complex process sheets
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Read scales and calipers accurately
- Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision
- Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
- Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
Other Duties:
- Reports problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to supervisor
- Perform other duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position
- Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
- Desire to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic
- Follow all company rules and policies
This position is 2nd Shift - Work Schedule: Monday through Friday - Hours: 4:00pm to 12:30am
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Adequate communication skills; verbal and written
- Ability to read and understand written instructions
- Ability to read blueprints, scales and calipers
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physically able to do bending, twisting, gripping, grasping and lifting
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Physically able to stand for up to 8 hours
- Requires good hand-eye coordination
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience/combined education
- Experience with presses
