Continuous Improvement Manager
PURPOSE: The Continuous Improvement Manager will drive operational excellence in a fast-paced, technical manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, coupled with a technical degree or relevant college education. This role requires a results-driven professional who can identify, implement, and sustain continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and cost savings.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead continuous improvement projects to drive operational efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize processes across the organization.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies to identify opportunities for improvement and implement sustainable solutions.
- Work hands-on with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, engineering, and planning, to troubleshoot issues and streamline workflows.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure the success of improvement initiatives.
- Conduct time studies, process mapping, and root cause analysis to identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
- Train and mentor team members on Lean tools, methodologies, and problem-solving techniques.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
- Prepare and deliver reports to leadership that highlight progress, results, and opportunities for improvement
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business, or related technical field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools and processes. Certification is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Hands-on, action-oriented mindset; must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
- Knowledge of machining processes, tools, and equipment is strongly preferred
