Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Catheterization Lab team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing with a focus on catheterization procedures and patient care within a high-acuity environment. This role is essential in providing exceptional care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care in the Catheterization Lab, including pre-procedure assessments and post-procedure monitoring.
- Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform catheterization procedures while maintaining sterile techniques and following established protocols.
- Document all medical information accurately, including patient history, ICD-10 coding, and procedural notes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive discharge planning and case management strategies for patients.
- Participate in triage processes to prioritize patient needs effectively.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures within a Level I Trauma Center environment.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.
Experience
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of nursing experience in acute care settings, preferably within a catheterization lab or similar environment. Experience with medical documentation, triage, discharge planning, case management, or working in specialized units such as PICU or memory care is highly desirable. A current Registered Nurse license is required along with relevant certifications in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS). Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential for success in this role.
