Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Catheterization Lab team. This role is critical in providing high-quality patient care during catheterization procedures in a Level I Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing, with a focus on infection control, triage, and laboratory skills. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care during catheterization procedures, ensuring adherence to established standards and protocols.
- Assist physicians with suture techniques and esthetic laser treatments as needed.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients prior to procedures, including triage and laboratory evaluations.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during and after procedures, implementing necessary interventions.
- Maintain infection control standards throughout the catheterization process, ensuring a sterile environment.
- Educate patients and their families about the procedure, recovery process, and any necessary follow-up care.
- Collaborate with internal medicine specialists and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans for patients with complex needs, including those requiring dementia care.
Experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Previous experience in a catheterization lab or similar clinical setting preferred.
- Proficient in phlebotomy techniques and laboratory procedures.
- Familiarity with infection control practices and standards within a healthcare environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality patient care.
