Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice Nurse to join our dedicated team. Duties
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and assessments of patients’ health status.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
- Provide catheter care and assist with other personal hygiene needs to maintain patient comfort.
- Document medical information accurately in patient records, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in discharge planning, coordinating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth transition for patients.
- Educate patients and families on care procedures, medication management, and family planning options as needed.
- Support patients in managing symptoms through appropriate interventions, including inhalation therapy when applicable.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care delivery that meets the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients.
Experience
- Previous experience as a registered nurse in hospice or palliative care is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in administering injections and performing medical documentation is essential.
- Familiarity with catheter care procedures and experience in discharge planning are highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of standards related to physical examinations and patient care practices is necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members are crucial for success in this role.
