Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical/surgical environment. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess patients’ health status.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform specimen collection and processing for laboratory analysis.
- Utilize aseptic technique during procedures to prevent infection.
- Manage and monitor patients in an inpatient setting, including those in ICU when necessary.
- Assist with gastric lavage and other critical care procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide support for durable medical equipment (DME) needs.
Skills
- Proficient in MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments.
- Experience with catheterization techniques and managing urinary catheters.
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic technique.
- Ability to perform physical examinations effectively.
- Experience administering injections safely and competently.
- Familiarity with specimen collection processing protocols.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Strong critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating leadership qualities.
