Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills. This role involves working with diverse patient populations, providing comprehensive nursing care, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects.
- Provide care for patients with various medical conditions, including those requiring ICU-level attention.
- Perform triage assessments to prioritize patient needs effectively.
- Manage ostomy care and educate patients on post-operative care.
- Utilize electronic health records (Epic) to document patient information accurately.
- Participate in case management activities to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Assist in the administration of esthetic laser treatments as needed.
- Support patients with disabilities by adapting care approaches to meet individual needs.
- Conduct MDS assessments as part of ongoing patient evaluations.
Experience
- Current RN license in good standing is required.
- Previous experience in a Medical/Surgical setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and safety practices is essential.
- Experience with ICU nursing is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of case management principles and practices is a plus.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, is advantageous.
- Experience working with patients who have disabilities will be considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are essential.
