Job Summary
The Progressive Care Nurse plays a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients who require close monitoring and specialized treatment. Duties
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and laboratory results, to identify any changes in health status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety standards.
- Provide airway management and catheter care as necessary, maintaining a focus on patient comfort and safety.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using appropriate medical terminology and coding systems such as ICD-10.
- Educate patients and their families about care plans, medications, and post-discharge instructions, particularly for outpatient follow-up.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in assisted living or home community care settings to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the standards of nursing practice within the progressive care unit.
