Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with mental health issues in an inpatient setting. This role requires a strong understanding of psychiatric nursing principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including crisis intervention and support during emergencies.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in electronic health records (eClinicalWorks).
- Assist with discharge planning and provide education to patients and families regarding ongoing care needs.
- Perform procedures such as IV infusion, administering injections, catheterization, and ostomy care as needed.
- Participate in continuous professional development and maintain current knowledge of best practices in psychiatric nursing.
Experience
- Previous experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with emergency medicine and critical care transport is a plus.
- Experience with discharge planning processes is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems is beneficial.
- Skills in esthetic laser treatment are a nice-to-have but not required.
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform essential nursing procedures competently, including IV infusion and administering injections.
