The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor, aligning business objectives with employees and management across designated business units. This role encompasses functional areas such as employee relations, recruitment and staffing, benefits, performance management, employee engagement, and HR policy development. The HRBP acts as a trusted liaison, ensuring business goals align with HR strategies and delivering value-added service that reflects organizational objectives. The HRBP also maintains an in-depth understanding of the business unit’s culture, competition, and strategic goals.
The role requires independent judgment to execute responsibilities under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager.
Job Duties:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for designated business units, aligning HR strategies with organizational goals.
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations, recruitment, benefits, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Formulate and maintain partnerships across HR functions to deliver strategic support to employees and management.
- Conduct detailed assessments of business unit needs, culture, and competition to inform HR strategies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employment, such as OFCCP, EEOC, ADA, ADEA, and EEO.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and project documentation.
- Manage sensitive employee issues while balancing corporate objectives and employee welfare.
- Drive and operate vehicles as needed for work assignments.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive understanding of employment regulations, including OFCCP, EEOC, ADA, ADEA, and EEO.
- Knowledge of PWC policies on personnel benefits, payroll, interdepartmental functions, and employee relations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and database management software.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a focus on maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to develop and sustain effective working relationships with employees, officials, vendors, contractors, and the general public.
Minimum Qualifications:
- (A) Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field and at least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or Management; OR
- (B) Associate degree from an accredited two-year college or technical institute with a minimum of six (6) years of experience as defined in (A); OR
- (C) An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that meets the above requirements.
Special Requirements:
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License. SPHR or PHR certification is desired.
