Description of primary duties and responsibilities: |
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit: The mission of Information Technology Services is to explore, implement, maintain, and support the uses of technology to achieve the University's academic and administrative objectives effectively and efficiently, as stated in the University's strategic plan. |
Description of Work Continued: | Primary Purpose of the Position: This position is eligible for flexible work arrangements, including remote/hybrid work. Fayetteville State University employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The IT Database Administrator III position designs, documents, configures, implements, and/or manages various databases to support a variety of applications, processes, etc. at Fayetteville State University. This individual is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. The IT Database Administrator III will be involved in the planning and development of databases, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of users. The IT Database Administrator III advises management on database concepts, functional capabilities, parameters, and prototypes. This position requires extensive skills and experience in database architecture, implementation, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting, as well as cloud-hosted applications. The IT Database Administrator III is also responsible for providing support for specific applications. In addition, the IT Database Administrator III will provide a second and third-level response for incidents reported by ITS tier-one support and monitoring systems. This position requires an in-depth understanding of Banner ERP information system and modules, database optimization development, application programming, report writing development, electronic form development, and functional expertise with the full array of Banner applications, as well as unique interface solutions and support for required campus interfaces to non-Banner campus applications.
