Duties
Essential Duties—Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plan, implement, assign, and review the work of staff involved in shift custodial services.
- Recommend and provide assistance to the Housekeeping Supervisor in the implementation of goals and objectives.
- Recommend and implement policies and procedures.
- Prepare daily assignments and inspect tasks performed by staff to ensure proper standard and quality of service.
- Train custodians in efficient and proper use of equipment, supplies, and technologies for proper cleaning.
- Observe and report repairs as needed.
- Prepare daily logs of work performed. Assist with the preparation of annual evaluations.
- Perform duties of a housekeeper as required during staff absences.
- Perform duties of Housekeeping Supervisor as required.
- Perform assigned duties during inclement weather conditions.
- Perform work during normal operations and critical events as an essential employee, and during special events and inclement weather (preparation and cleanup) which may occur on, and include, nights and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent. Further educational advancement from an accredited College is desirable.
- Four years of increasing custodial experience with supervisory experience.
- Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license which requires five (5) years of driving experience with no more than one (1) minor accident or violation in the past three (3) years.
- Possession of or ability to obtain forklift certification within one (1) year of employment.
- Completed vaccinations and immunization for Hepatitis B or begun within six (6) months of employment.
