Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial software. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.

Responsibilities

· Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data.

· Receiving, processing, verifying, reconciling, and distributing invoices.

· Resolving purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies.

· Analyze and process accounts payable in a timely manner.

· Compare system reports to balances and verify entries.

· Manage cost center expense charging and appropriate account mapping.

· Verify vendor accounts, confirm banking information for payment, ensure proper vendor documents such as W-9 and Certificates of Insurance are filed when appropriate.

· Reconcile account transactions with the general ledger on an ongoing basis.

· Stay informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.

· File and secure important and vital records related to job functions.

· Assist with monitoring and reporting of employee expense reimbursement and company bank/credit card use.

· Assist with various Accounts Receivable functions such as recording customer invoices and reporting.

· Enter Sales Orders and Purchase Orders.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

• · Proficient in General Ledger Accounting

· Excellent working knowledge of detailed accounts payable functions.

· Attention to detail and accuracy.

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to follow up on pending issues.

· Ability to meet deadlines and set and maintain schedules for executing essential functions.

· Extensive knowledge in account reconciliation.

· Commitment to implementing and enforcing internal controls.

· Willingness to learn new skills and job functions.

· Proficiency of MS Excel and other database tools.
