Position Summary
The role of the QA Technician I is to help ensure the product quality, safety of products produced, and taking corrective actions when necessary, including communicate non-compliances to appropriate departments. Verify and document regulatory programs (HACCP, SSOP, GMP and product labeling). Follow and comply with company procedures and policies set forth by management team and customer specifications.
Essential Functions
- Performing inspections of product and plant systems documenting and calculating results accurately.
- Takes corrective action when necessary and alerts appropriate personnel to adjust process.
- Identify and isolate non-conforming product and report results to management.
- Work collectively with USDA and other department managers/supervisors as needed.
- Ensure compliance to all regulatory standards including HACCP, USDA, SSOP’s etc.
- Skill in using a computer and various software applications.
- Perform pre-operational inspection and calibrations of equipment to ensure requirements have been met.
- Support the execution of GMPs throughout the manufacturing plant and follow safety rules and procedures
- Conducts audits of the facility to guarantee prerequisite programs are being supported.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, or 6 months to 1-year related manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
· Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.

· None. Reports to the QA Supervisor.

The work environment is in a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures ranging between 40-50 degrees and noise levels is moderate to high. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors.
