Quality Control Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to oversee and manage the quality assurance processes in our beef processing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all beef products meet both company standards and regulatory requirements. The Quality Control Manager will play a key role in implementing and monitoring quality control systems to maintain the highest levels of product quality, safety, and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Quality Control Systems Management: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures for beef processing, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., USDA, HACCP, FSIS).
• Inspection and Testing: Oversee the inspection, sampling, and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet all quality and safety standards.
• Product Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of beef products during production, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with customer specifications.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all products meet federal, state, and local regulations for food safety and quality. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and ensure adherence to them.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and train quality control staff, ensuring they understand and execute quality procedures effectively. Provide guidance and support to resolve quality-related issues.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, corrective actions, and audits. Prepare regular quality reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality issues, identify the root cause, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Conduct regular audits and internal reviews of processes to ensure continued product quality.
• Continuous Improvement: Work with other departments (production, operations, and maintenance) to implement continuous improvement strategies for product quality and process efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Quality Management, or a related field (preferred).
• 5 years of experience in quality control or assurance in a food processing or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• In-depth knowledge of beef processing, food safety standards, and industry regulations (USDA, HACCP, FSIS).
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficient in quality control software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $86,376.00 per year
