Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the movement of freight, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and clients. This role requires strong analytical skills and familiarity with various transportation management systems.
Duties
- Manage daily dispatch operations, ensuring efficient routing of shipments.
- Utilize software such as SyteLine, Oracle Transportation Management, and AS400 to track shipments and manage logistics.
- Communicate effectively with drivers regarding pick-up and delivery schedules.
- Analyze freight data to optimize routes and reduce costs.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely processing of goods.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to enhance service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including shipment details and driver logs.
- Address any issues that arise during the shipping process, providing solutions in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching or fleet management is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes is essential.
- Strong analytical skills to assess data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with drivers and clients.
- Proficiency in using transportation management software (experience with SyteLine, Oracle Transportation Management, or AS400 is a plus).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in record keeping.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.52 - $19.98 per hour
