Summary of Position :
The Staff Accountant 2 role will report to the Director of Finance and Accounting and will help drive month end close and implement process change within the accounting team. Primary responsibilities will include all inventory related accounts, accrued dilution, and all revenue / COGS transactions. Other responsibilities involve process and system improvements, management reporting and analysis, and supporting other functions within the accounting team as well as the broader organization.
Principle Accountabilities :
- Lead in month-end closes by analyzing activity for assigned accounts (Inventory on hand, internal in transit, external in transit, inventory provision, capitalized freight, capitalized duties, intercompany, accrued chargebacks / returns / dilution) preparing journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts (65%)
- Perform Revenue and COGS analysis to ensure sales and fulfillments have been properly reflected in the general ledger and prepare daily summaries for the CFO and executive management team – 10%
- Collaborate with FP&A to perform financial statement analysis / margin analysis and document meaningful explanations for fluctuations to help management make business decisions – 10%
- Other ad hoc projects include but are not limited to (15%)
- Develop and implement process improvements, document desktop procedures and processes to achieve efficiencies
- Support external audit requirements
- Develop / implement improvements to standard COGS / PPV to include freight / duty in COGS and eliminate need for separate capitalized freight / duty accounts.
- Standard COGS and streamlined transfer pricing elimination process build out
- Assist management in completing special projects and analyses on an ad-hoc basis
