Summary:
If you are looking to gain real-world experience in manufacturing, we have an exciting opportunity at Frozen Beverage Dispensers. As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will work alongside professionals to develop a structure training program for new production operators. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to apply your academic knowledge, enhance your practical skills, and work in a dynamic and supportive environment with cross-functional teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gain in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and efficiency optimization techniques, applying principles of manufacturing engineering to develop effective work instructions and training materials for new hires.
- Utilize data analysis and statistics to refine and optimize training process effectiveness.
- Support the implementation of digital tools and metrics to measure training success.
- Develop a comprehensive training program, including any necessary fixtures, for onboarding new operators utilizing new process development techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the training process aligns with operational needs and improves operator development.
- Integrate findings from Layered Process Audits (LPA) and other continuous improvement initiatives into training content.
- Assist in creating and developing a maintenance plan for training documents, presentations, and instructional materials.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to gather insights and feedback for training development.
- Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Strong interest in process development within the manufacturing industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety standards is a plus.
- Experience with Power BI and/or SQL for data visualization and reporting a plus.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Must be able to pass a background check and a drug test.
Physical Demands:
- Required to stand, walk, balance, have eye/hand/foot coordination, reach, grasp, occasionally sit.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- This position works in a typical office and manufacturing environment.
- Clarity of vision including the ability to appropriately differentiate colors.
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.

This internship position is part of the TXWORKS - Student program. Interested applicants will complete the Student Eligibility Form to get started. TXWORKS-eligible students participating in TXWORKS internships earn a minimum of $20 per hour for at least 8 weeks / 96 hours for internship opportunities. TXWORKS student participants submit their letter of eligibility with the record ID and their college transcript (official or unofficial) with their internship application.
