Summary:
The Production Tester I is responsible for testing and evaluating products during the manufacturing process to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. The role involves using various testing equipment, analyzing test results, and collaborating with the production team to identify and resolve issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all safety protocols, report any incidents promptly, and always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Test equipment using standard work instructions to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with FBD quality standards.
- Identify defects or issues, troubleshoot problems, and communicate findings to the production team or Engineers for resolution.
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure it is calibrated and functions correctly.
- Crosstrain and rotate between different workstations on the production floor as directed to support production demand.
- Process non-conformance reports (NCRs) for rejected material according to the FBD NCR process.
- Participate in lean activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with FBD 5S policies.
- Perform other duties and projects as needed and assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 6 months of production experience.
- 608 Type 2 or Universal certification must be received within 60 days.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Prior experience with basic hand tools and power tools is preferred.
- Must have good communication skills and be fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and a reference check.
Physical Demands:
- Required to stand, push, pull, have eye/hand/foot coordination, occasionally walk.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- This position works in a typical manufacturing environment.
- Clarity of vision including the ability to appropriately differentiate colors.
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
