What are the responsibilities and job description for the ERECTION CREW LEADMAN position at FBI Buildings Inc?
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting the foreman with construction of buildings including supervision duties of three to five crew men and responsibility for construction tools and truck. Will assume full responsibility for these duties in the absence of the foreman.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with constructing quality post frame and stud wall buildings in a timely and efficient method.
- Assist in coordinating building project with customer and subcontractors to guarantee the building is constructed according to customer’s expectation, building codes, and FBi specifications.
- Serve the customer with respect and kindness to satisfy his building needs and problems.
- Assist with supervision, motivation, and training of each crew employee in order for them to improve and minimize turnover.
- Assist with supervising work of crew employees (as a team) in order to construct quality building projects as efficiently as possible.
- Assist with responsibilities for safety of crew employees and public by using safe construction practices, compliance with PPE requirements and maintaining a safe job site.
- Assist with maintaining the crew truck and equipment so they are safe, neat, clean and in good working condition.
- Report the project status and requirements to scheduling with enough advance notice to fill the requirements, including but not limited to: materials, equipment, man power, vehicles, subcontractors and the owner's needs in the absence of the foreman.
- Provide proper and accurate paperwork, including but not limited to: purchase orders, change orders, receipts, return goods forms, miscellaneous parts lists, time cards, time and material information, job report card, exception reports and lead cards in the absence of the foreman.
- Whatever it takes to get the job done. "It's not my job!" is not in my vocabulary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience on a FBi crew as a crew man, or two years experience constructing post frame buildings.
2. Ability to meet customers and public well.
3. Responsible, conscientious, dependable, and accurate with details.
4. Good problem solving and supervision skills.
5. Must have a valid Driver’s License and have the ability to maintain DOT specifications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to climb and maintain balance at heights up to 24'. May be required to lift, carry, handle, or pull up to 75 pounds several times a day. Considerable physical effort of hands and arms required.
SPECIAL DEMANDS:
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions. May be asked to start work early or work late as schedule demands. Injury exposure could be severe cuts and bruises. Risk of falls. Must work in overhead structure and beneath and around power machinery.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports directly to the Crew Foreman.
