As an accountant with 3-5 years' experience, you'll gain recognition working directly with VPs and Directors and play a crucial role in managing multi-company, enterprise-wide expenses. Our team handles all significant projects, conducting in-depth cost-benefit analyses as we prepare to review with C-Suite leaders. What You'll Do :

Overview : as part of the Expense Planning team, you'll be responsible for conducting Cost-Benefit Analyses (CBA) to assess economic viability. This role also involves supporting annual expense budgeting, forecasting, and the overall management of expenses in collaboration with the team and business leaders.

CBA Process : Assist in analyzing projects, calculating costs, benefits, and projected IRRs. Support the project team in presenting to the CBA committee which includes senior management.

Annual Budgeting and Forecasting : Contribute to the annual expense budgeting and forecasting process for Farm Bureau Life, Farm Bureau Property & Casualty, and Enterprise businesses. Analyze allocations in a multi-company environment including various products or profit centers. Provide updates and training to cost center owners.

Overhead Expense Analysis : Review and analyze overhead expenses as part of the annual budget process as the team prepares to share results with senior management.

Finance Liaison : Serve as a finance / accounting liaison, supporting technology, marketing, sales distribution, and project office groups.

Reporting and Analysis : Prepare monthly variance reports, including forecasting support and ad hoc reports like headcount reports, project pipeline tracking, and project result tracking. Assist with quarterly commission expense reporting and analysis.

Budget Tool Administration : Administer the Workday Adaptive Planning budget software, managing access, designing reports, writing formulas, working with restructures and realignments, and learning to troubleshoot issues.

What It Takes to Join Our Team :

Required Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Experience : 3-5 years of accounting experience, including exposure to expense analysis

Preferred Qualifications :

Certifications : CPA designation

Experience :

Public accounting experience

Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Experience supporting shared functional groups as a finance expert or liaison

Skills :

Exceptional communication skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate financial concepts clearly and concisely.

Professionalism : Proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, including senior executives.

Strong technical skills : Proficiency in Excel, artificial intelligence, other accounting software, and financial analysis tools.

Knowledge of Adaptive Insights, BPC 10.0, SAP Accounting, internal structures, and master data file maintenance

Additional Information :

Experience in budgeting, forecasting and expense analytics is a plus.
