Job Title: Engineering Project Manager
Job Location: Rochester, NY
JOB SUMMARY
The Engineering Project Manager will lead our engineering team in the
successful design, scaling, and implementation of key platform equipment and processes.
The position serves a critical need by providing oversight, organization, and management
of multiple projects of key organizational priority. The individual will work closely with
internal research and development teams as well as external firms and partners to
successfully derisk the company’s platform processing technologies for commercial
implementation. In addition to having a strong engineering background and track record
of project management, we are looking for someone who can translate
complicated workflows into clear communication, develop defined metrics of success for
projects, and share logical thought processes for risk assessment and project priorities
given the strategic goals and development stage of the company.
SELECTION CRITERIA
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering. A Master's degree is preferred;
• 5 years of experience in project management within the food, energy, or related industry;
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software;
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure;
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities;
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve project goals;
• Hands-on experience scaling equipment and working in pilot facilities is a plus;
• A multidisciplinary knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering
principles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and implement a technology roadmap to derisk scaled equipment solutions from proof
of concept through commercialization;
• Advise on project priority using risk assessment and an understanding of company development
stage, resources, and strategy;
• Define and identify project resource needs including the fostering of relationships with external
firms and partners capable of supporting key equipment manufacturing, automation, and
controls work projects;
• Lead and manage multiple engineering projects and their internal and external stakeholders to
support equipment development and pilot facility implementation;
• Develop clearly defined metrics of success informed by economics and relevant technical drivers;
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation;
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget;
• Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and food
safety and regulatory experts;
• Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and mitigating risks and issues as they
arise;
• Communicate project status, updates, and any changes to stakeholders, ensuring transparency
and alignment;
• Implement best practices and methodologies for project management, continuously improving
processes and efficiency;
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and
innovative work environment;
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies, particularly those
related to food safety and equipment standards;
• Support techno-economic analyses to aid the development, design, and commercialization of
process equipment.

This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits. Compensation commensurate with experience.
