Job Title: First Class Pipefitter

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled First Class Pipefitter with experience in marine, commercial nuclear, or petro/chemical industries. The ideal candidate will fit, install, and fabricate various piping systems according to detailed drawings and project specifications. The role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret ship piping drawings to accurately install and fabricate piping systems.
- Fit carbon steel, CRES, and copper-nickel piping as per specifications.
- Performed pipe end preparation both by hand and using machinery.
- Installed pipe hangers and supports as required by project specifications.
- Use measuring tools, including rulers (inches and tenths), to ensure accurate pipe fitting.
- Prep and fit-up backing rings, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
- Clean cut and break pipe with a grinder and prepare V bevels by hand.
- Fabricate various details and assemblies from detailed drawings.
- Bend pipe using templates and hand benders to required specifications.
- Fit welded sockets and brazed joints, both with and without insert rings.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a First Class Pipefitter in marine, commercial nuclear, or petro/chemical environments.
- Strong ability to read and interpret piping drawings.
- Proficient in fitting various types of piping materials, including carbon steel, CRES, and copper-nickel.
- Skilled in using hand tools and machines for pipe preparation (e.g., grinders, benders).
- Experience in fabricating details and assemblies from technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to read rulers and tape measures to precise measurements (inches and tenths).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with welding and brazing techniques.
- Familiarity with pipefitting in marine, commercial nuclear, or petro/chem industries.
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures for pipefitting tasks.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $28.10 - $29.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
