What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traveling Superintendent (Steel Construction) position at FCA Certified Public Accountants?
Currently seeking an experienced Superintendent/Assistant Project Manager to support our organization’s mission to provide superior quality, lasting value, and outstanding customer service through our day-to-day workflow processes.
Candidate will provide support during all aspects of a project from planning to completion, while overseeing the work of our subcontractors in the field. Candidate will be expected to analyze project progress and ensure that our subcontractor’s onsite activities adhere to project requirements. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with internal team members to identify and address issues of constructability or lack of scope during the project’s pre-construction phase.
- Perform site inspections throughout a project’s progress to ensure workmanship and materials conform to plan and work specifications.
- Provide oversight in field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction progress and quality control requirements are being met.
- Work with team members to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems on projects before they become a major issue.
- Prepare and submit onsite field reports documenting observations made during site visit.
- Report to the Project Manager on a daily basis, more often when needed, especially when there are any occurrences that can affect the successful completion of the project.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employee
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Ability to pass drug and background screenings.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as site superintendent for Commercial Construction projects required.
- Must be able to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Ability to perform required physical aspects of job inspections which include climbing, reaching, bending, stooping, crawling, standing, walking, manual dexterity, seeing, hearing, and touching.
- Ability to travel, including overnight stays, both inside and outside of state and perform outdoor site walks in all weather conditions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office- especially Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Detail oriented with strong writing and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet schedules.
- Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems.
This is a Full-Time position, 8-5/M-F, with travel scheduled to occur Tuesday thru Thursday of each week, or as may be required. Compensation will be based on experience and includes benefits such as paid holidays, paid time off, performance incentives, etc.
